What is the Litter-Robot 3 Connect?
The Litter-Robot 3 Connect is the automatic, self-cleaning litter box from Litter-Robot. This high-tech litter box can be connected to the WiFi, and it has an app that you can download to keep track of everything. When you link up the Litter-Robot 3 Connect with the mobile app it lets you monitor the litter box activities.

What does the Litter-Robot actually do?
The Litter-Robot 3 Connect automates the least pleasant household chore that needs to get done, litter scooping. It literally takes the chore off your hands.
Imagine being able to control and monitor your cat’s litter box from anywhere in your home, or even when you’re away. That’s exactly what the Litter-Robot 3 Connect offers with its Wi-Fi connectivity.
By connecting it to your home’s Wi-Fi network, you can use a mobile app to access real-time information about the litter box. You’ll know exactly when it needs attention, from waste levels to cleaning cycles, and receive notifications reminding you to empty the waste drawer.
It also makes more efficient use of litter and the waste drawer shuts perfectly and has excellent odor control due to the filter in the front!
How Does The Litter-Robot 3 Connect Work?
After your cat has been to the toilet the cycling process will automatically separate the waste from the litter and deposit the litter clumps into the waste drawer for easy disposal.
About a week later the waste drawer light will start flashing, indicating it needs to be emptied. The app’s notifications and alerts will keep you informed, ensuring that you never miss a beat when it comes to maintaining a clean and fresh litter box for your furry companion.
After you get notification that the drawer is full, all you need to do is open up the waste drawer, tie a knot in the plastic bag and take it to the trash. Easy!
Please make sure to put a new plastic bag/liner in the drawer and close it, and if needed, add one or two scoops of fresh litter to keep the Litter-Robot full. There is a limit line for the litter inside the Litter-Robot.
When you have done all the above, press ‘reset’ on the Litter-Robot. The Litter-Robot will cycle once to make sure everything is ok and it’s ready for use again.
This means that you don’t have to do anything for a week and you’ll get a notification on your phone when the Litter-Robot needs you.
Everything has been fully automated and made much easier for cat parents. Your cat’s paws will also stay clean because your furbaby will always enter a fresh litter box. It’s great for overall household hygiene!
The Litter-Robot 3 Connect App
As mentioned before, the Litter-Robot 3 ‘Connect’ model can be linked to your mobile phone. The mobile phone app is available in the app store for both devices, iOS (9.0 and higher) and Android (6.0 and higher).
The Litter-Robot 3 Connect app allows you to monitor and control the litter box drawer and usage. You will also receive notifications every time the Litter-Robot cycles. It will notify you when the drawer is full and needs to be emptied.
The app also keeps track of the litter box activity; you will see a daily, weekly, and monthly analysis. This way you can analyze how often your cat uses the litter box. You will gain insights into your cat’s health, keeping track of its litter box activity might come in handy next time you visit the vet. This is where the app truly shines according to us because a healthy cat is a happy cat!
The app also controls some basic options, like the night lamp and the time of the next cycle. We kept our litter box cycle at 7 minutes of the litter box being used. Our advice is not to go lower than 7 minutes because you have to give your cats a bit of breathing room and not for the robot to start cycling as soon as they step out.
Some cats like to hang near the litter box and clean themselves, if you have a very timid cat the cycling might scare them. It’s safe to keep it at 7 minutes then you know for sure your cat isn’t near it.
If you are a light sleeper, the Litter-Robot 3 Connect also has a sleep-mode. You can set-up the Litter-Robot so that it doesn’t cycle during the night by putting in your sleeping hours. This is very convenient when you live in a small apartment.

You can turn the power ON/OFF straight from your Litter-Robot app.
Cycle Time
The cycling can be set to 3, 7, and 15 minutes. This is the time when the Litter-Robot deposits the waste in the waste drawer. We recommend setting it to 7 minutes.
Night Mode
The Litter-Robot has a night light, when it gets dark outside and you haven’t turned on your lights in the house yet, the Litter-Robot automatically detects it’s night time and turns on the blue night light inside the unit. This can be controlled by the app.
Sleep Mode
If you are a light sleeper or you have the Litter-Robot near the bedroom, you will be able to put sleep mode on and the unit won’t cycle for a period of 8 sleeping hours. You can adjust your hours the way it suits you.

The Litter-Robot 3 Connect Cleaning
You might wonder: does the Litter-Robot need cleaning? Well, you don’t have to do much to keep it clean, it has its own waste drawer all you have to do is keep it empty.
We tested the Litter-Robot 3 Connect with one cat household and the waste drawer ‘full indication’ blue light started to flash in approximately 10 days. This is when we emptied the litter waste drawer, tied a knot in the plastic bag, and took out the trash – easy peasy!
Let us mention that the Litter-Robot includes 3 plastic bags for the waste drawer when you purchase the litter box.
Our cat is super clean when she goes to the litter box. So, we didn’t need to clean the entire Litter-Robot that often. We did this every 3 months or so, and it was more for hygiene reasons than the Litter-Robot actually being dirty or smelly.

The scooping has always been dreadful, but it’s a household chore that needs to get done. It doesn’t matter when you do the chore it’s never pleasant. We have tried scooping in the morning before work, right after work, before dinner, and scooping poop just before going to bed. Inhaling that penetrating smell is very unpleasant.
The Litter-Robot saves us time and frees us from having to do this chore. Another positive thing is that we don’t have to buy litter that often. The Litter-Robot does separate the clumpy waste more efficiently than we humans do.
The Litter-Robot took away these problems for us and made owning a cat so much easier. We noticed the benefits with our one-cat household and we know for sure that 2 or 3 cat households will notice the benefits even more!
